I have set out below the most common questions I receive.

1. What do you charge for your services?

My pricing policy is a standard per-word or per-page basis. You can get more details from the pricing page of the website.

2. How long will it take to deliver a completed review?

The time required will depend on the length of the piece of work. All proofreading, copy editing and website review work is carried out in person by me so I require a minimum of 5 days to ensure I can get the work done to a high standard.

If you require a shorter timeframe an express delivery service can be purchased at checkout for a 50% additional fee. This reduces the delivery time to 3 days.

3. I need the finished review completed in under 5 days. Are you able to do this?

An express delivery service of 3 days delivery time (up to 30,000 words, + 1 day for each additional 30,000 words) can be purchased at checkout for an additional 50% on your basic fee.

If you need a faster delivery than this or you require express delivery on a substantial document please contact me directly.  Provide details of the length of the document and your required timeframe and I will let you know if I have capacity at that time to accept the work.

4. What format of documents do you accept?

I accept documents in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx), Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt), Portable Document Format (.pdf), LibreOffice (.ods, .odt), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Text document (.txt), Mac Pages (.pages), Numbers (.numbers) and Keynote (.keynote).

If your document is in any other format, please convert it to one of the formats shown above before submission.

For music manuscripts, please send your document in PDF format.

5. What should I expect to receive back?

The style of the response you receive will depend on the format of the document I am working on.

Microsoft Word, Pages and LibreOffice text documents: Suggested corrections will be included as tracked changes, with formatting suggestions included as additional comments.

Microsoft Excel, Numbers and LibreOffice spreadsheet documents: Suggested amendments will be noted using the comment function appended to the relevant cell.

Website reviews: Comments will be provided in a separate document, listing out suggested corrections by website page and paragraph/line number.

All other document formats: You will receive a PDF document with amendments shown as handwritten corrections on the face of the document. If you would prefer amendments to be listed out in a document by line number, please let me know at the time of submitting your work to me.

6. I am American/English.  Which spelling format do you follow?

I have extensive experience of proofreading documents written in both American-English and British-English.  When placing your order just let me know which English spellings you would like me to use.  If you have any other specific styles that you would like me to follow then please send details of these when sending me your document for review.

7. How do I get started?

For website review and music manuscript work, please get in touch through the contact form for a quote.

For all other services, simply calculate the word count of your document and then purchase the service you require, using the calculator on the purchase page to calculate the number of units you should buy.

On completing the purchase you will receive a receipt with my email address. Forward your document to this address and I will get started immediately. If your document is too large to be emailed, let me know and I will set up a Dropbox folder so that you can share your work with me.
