Anna-Maria Luton is a classically-trained violinist, who was given the opportunity in 2022 to realise a lifetime dream of playing in a rock band.

Hi, I'm Anna-Maria
I'm a violinist (and singer) based in Barcelona, who trained in traditional, classical violin and previously worked as both an orchestral and chamber violinist, as well as a violin, piano and music theory teacher.
My journey into rock and metal began in 2022, when I was invited to collaborate with the heavy rock band Sixstrings, who I worked with until the end of 2025 as both violinist and backing vocalist. At the start of 2023, I also joined the alternative metal band, Azalea, who were working on their first album. After all, why play one style of music when you can play two?!
Moving into the world of rock and metal has been an absolute joy!
Everything I do is an open door to creativity, from the first inspiration for a new violin part through to performing on stage where every performance becomes unique. Songs and performance style have to adapt in the moment to the conditions, and improvisation becomes a necessity to help manage the (disturbingly insecure) world of performing with electric instruments on stages of every shape and size. As for the audiences: since I’ve been playing with the bands I’ve met some of the most enthusiastic, relaxed and vibrant audiences of my life.
Since 2025, I've started doing one-off projects, working both with producers in the studio to add violin parts to individual songs, and helping rock bands create acoustic versions of their existing music.
